Past Works & Inspirations
My work is constantly evolving. Ideas, materials and techniques move from one piece to another, sometimes changing completely along the way. This page follows some of those explorations — the materials I have worked with, the ideas I have followed, and the unexpected directions they have sometimes taken me.
Looking back, I realise that although the medium has changed, the process has not. I am still exploring, making, experimenting and seeing where an idea might lead.
Creativity has always been the red thread in my work. I began working with leather because I was interested in the relationship between material, construction and form — and in how a functional object could also become something very personal.

From bags to light
I had always been fascinated by lamps — not only as objects, but by what happens to them when they are switched on. A lamp can completely change character in an instant, while at the same time changing the atmosphere and feeling of the space around it.
Working with Leather I started wondering what would happen if some of those ideas found their way into lighting. I began combining leather, fabric, colour and other accents into the lamps. I became increasingly interested in how familiar materials could take on a new character when combined with light.
Following the idea
I tend to follow things that interest me and see where they lead. My love of gardening found its way into these lamps, with flowers becoming part of the design rather than simply decoration.
I enjoy combining things that you wouldn't necessarily associate with a lamp — materials, colours, textures and details — and seeing what happens when they meet. Much of the pleasure is in the experimenting: adding something unexpected, changing it, and seeing how it transforms the character of the piece.
Not every idea needs to become a collection. Sometimes it is simply about following a thought and seeing where it takes me.

What comes next
Some of these smaller collections eventually led to more developed forms. The Austin and Big Series grew from that same process of exploring colour, material and proportion — taking an idea further and seeing what it could become.
The process continues. I still follow the things that interest me, experiment with new materials and let one idea lead to the next. I don't always know where it will take me — but that curiosity, and the desire to see an idea become something real, is what keeps me designing.
