The combination of taupe, black and brogue trim gives the Tote a classic, understated character. I wanted a very particular balance between the colours, so I hand-painted the leather to achieve exactly the tone I had in mind.

I like the way the hand-painted surface gives the leather a softer, more individual quality. Against the black details, the taupe becomes warmer and more distinctive, while the simple form keeps the overall design clean.
