Story
No. 01

The Story is an exploration of material, form and craftsmanship. Working with Italian vegetable-tanned leather, I focus on forms, careful proportions and details that reveal themselves through use. Each bag is made by hand in small editions or as a one-of-a-kind work, allowing the leather and the design to develop their own character over time.

I wanted to see how the same form would change when expressed in black leather. The darker colour gives it a quieter, more restrained character, while the simplicity of the design allows the material to remain the focus. As with all natural leather, its surface changes gradually with use, making each piece increasingly individual.

I was looking for a very particular balance of taupe and black for this piece, so I hand-painted the leather to achieve exactly the colour I had in mind. Combined with the brogue trim, the result is a classic form with a more individual character.
